Polymer crystal help poor soils
Terawet Ventures, Inc., San Diego, a leader in soil polymer technology, announces its most advanced soil polymer crystal formulation to date. This product technology was developed to hopefully help growers with arid and poor soil conditions in areas of the world and the United States where growing food is a real problem due to reduced water availability.
The new polymer product, AgraGel T-400 Blue, is the most efficient and scientifically proven super-absorbent hydrogel yet devised, and unlike other soil polymer crystals on the market, it has a 10 year performance duration, is guaranteed non-toxic and absorbs hundreds of times its weight in water in the soil.
Adding to its unique water saving properties, it has now been combined with a slow release urea nitrate fertilizer resulting in far faster plant establishment. After more than 10 years of performance, the crystal biodegrades and leaves no residual toxicity behind in the soil.
These amazing crystals have been engineered to release their moisture into the soil when the soil dries out to 50 percent of field capacity, which is the amount of water the soil can hold. This promotes the roots to seek out and grow toward the new available moisture, absorbing it and then growing to the next closest one, resulting in an increase in root mass. A greater root mass results in a bigger plant and subsequent greater yields.
The end result for the grower is a very efficient system of tiny reservoirs of water in the soil that extend the time between irrigations or rainfall while at the same time benefiting from a faster growing plant with increased moisture content and greater crop yield.
