  • In waste waters, odor is generally due to Ammonia and H2S.
  • H2S is toxic, fatal, causes kerato-conjunctivitis, photophobia, lacrimation, corneal opacity, rhinitis, laryngitis, erythema, tachypnea, tachycardia.
  • The term ammonia/um refers to two chemical species which are in equilibrium in water (NH3, un-ionized and NH4 +, ionized) according to NH3 + H+ NH4+.
  • Tests for ammonia/um usually measure total ammonia plus ammonium, while the toxicity is primarily attributed to the un-ionized form.
  • In general, more un-ionized ammonia and greater toxicity exist at higher pH, because its relative proportion increases with increasing pH according to the following equations (US EPA, 1985): 1 / (1 + 10 pKa-pH ) = % NH3 where: pKa = 0.0902 + [2729.9/(°C+273.2)]

Bio-ODORSOLVEis conceived to control foul odors emanating from household, institutional, commercial and industrial areas.

It will break down the organic compounds that cause odors of basic elements. It degrades organic matter, ammonia, nitrites and sulfides and will totally eliminate odors and not simply mask them. 

MECHANISM OF ACTION:

  • Thiosulfate Oxidation Rate:  1000 mg / L/hour at a pH range of  6.5 - 8.0
  • B. Nitrobacter : Converts HNO2 into HNO3. (Nitrite into nitrate) and  Obligates autotrophs
  • B. Nitrosomonas : Obligates autotrophs; Solubilizes Phosphorous; Converts NH3 into HNO2.
  • De Sulfo Vibrio desulfuricans: produces stable hydrogenase; Useful to remove iron from solutions, metal sulfide formations; Utilises Sulphates and releases H2S.
  • Thiobacillus ferrooxidans: Metabolized by this bacteria do not consume oxygen dissolved chemoautotroph but by utilizing nitrate compounds, sulfur, iron 3 + ions as a source of energy.   The application of Thiobacillus ferroxidans in ponds is very useful for mentralisir toxic gases  such as H2S and NO2 and minimize oxygen consumption based pool.so that the dissolved oxygen content (DO) based pool can remain well preserved.

METHOD OF APPLICATION:
Product has to be diluted with water
 (1 volume of product with 4 volumes
of water) and liberally sprayed over the target areas.
